"Camp Harvest", our Family Educational Weekend is often referred to as "Family Camp". Our members have shared with us that this event has brought the bleeding disorders community in Alabama together as one big family.
Camp Harvest, held in October, at Children's Harbor on beautiful Lake Martin in Alexander City, Alabama, provides a haven for learning, exploring, and bonding. It's a place where young and old alike, are able to share life experiences among others who experience the same daily challenges of living with a bleeding disorder. At Camp Harvest our families receive important educational information that empowers them to take charge of their disorder. Our pharmaceutical and home care partners are on hand to answer questions as they relate to treatment options, new products, and information relating to healthy lifestyle choices for those affected with bleeding disorders. Like the leaves that turn in fall, Camp Harvest has been a "turning" point for many of our children and families.
