Youth Ambassador Program

Purpose of the Program

Our Youth Ambassador Program kicked off in October 2018 with over 25 young adults showing up with an interest in pursuing this educational opportunity. We have established that there is a need and a desire to continue moving forward with this Educational Opportunity for our youth.

“Youth Ambassadors” can bridge the gap between talking about something and fully understanding it. For this reason, a speaker’s bureau program is very popular and an effective means of promoting education and understanding. Having young people living with a bleeding disorder share their life experiences puts a face to hemophilia or von Willebrand Disease.

We facilitate workshops and provide speakers throughout the year at our events to enhance this program and to encourage our members in pursuit of this opportunity. Our program will cultivate a learning environment and provide a beginner’s platform for their growth as future leaders and spokespersons for the bleeding disorders community in Alabama and beyond.

You do not have to be affected to engage but must possess the desire to participate in our events and programs to further your involvement and impact on the bleeding disorders community in Alabama through this educational program.

Participants at our events between the ages of 13 – 17 will be included in our Youth Ambassador Activities when offered at our events.
